WHO ARE WE?
Our startup clothing brand, Maraki, blends quality and purpose by supporting communities in Southern Ethiopia and partnering with local development-focused non-profits. Meaning "attractiveness" in Amharic, Maraki merges Ethiopian-inspired designs with American style, celebrating authentic cultural influences in every piece.
Mission
Our mission with this brand is to partner with non-profit organizations and dedicate half of our profits to them, using them to bring hope to susceptible communities in Ethiopia. We are currency partnered with BRIDGE H2OPE, a non-profit organization that builds water wells in Ethiopian Villages without clean water. We plan to add more partners in the future. As individuals who have come from impoverished conditions, we want to make a change and spread hope.

Founders
Simagen and Simegn Collins
We are twin brothers adopted from Ethiopia. We grew up in Colorado and moved to western Pennsylvania in 2020 to attend Slippery Rock University. As recent college graduates, we are both full-time workers, but we are very eager to continue pursuing Maraki as our passion project on the side. Our aspirations is to use the creative gifts God blessed us with to make a meaningful impact in the world and the communities around us.
We’ve always had the idea of creating a very unique and meaningful brand for a long time, and as the right time presented itself, we took the right steps and here we are. In this multifaceted project, we design, develop, and facilitate most of the concepts with this brand. We put a lot of time and energy into our work to make our visions come to life. All this work would not be possible without the help of our friends, family, and community. We hope that you join us on this journey to make a great impact around us.
